BoTM Canuckbiker's 1988 Brodie Romax is the April 2025 Bike of The Month

Sorry for the delayed reply I just noticed these comments :) I live in North Burnaby, to get to the location with the mountain view I ride a few blocks through local neighbourhoods to reach the very north end of Boundary road (between Vancouver/Burnaby). There is an inner city trailhead there...

    1989 Klein Top Gun

I've got all parts for the build sorted now including new cable inners for the internal routing, the last items I needed to sort out were some red & blue rattle cans that match as close as possible for the fork & MC1. Frame over my shoulder I went through every available can at both Canadian...

    Kona Kilauea 1993

A few updates that have taken place over the last year. Added a bit a Campy flair. One of the reasons I always loved the Sugino XP crankset is it’s strong resemblance to the original Campy C Record crank (one of my all time favorites). So I added Campy crank fixing bolts and chainring bolts, I...

    1993 Cannondale M800 BOTE

A few updates from recent months. I never had a desire to make use of Cannondale’s Force 40 brake system. Kinda cool idea Cannondale had I guess but I’ve never felt it was an improvement of the standard setup, personal preference. After sourcing the Pepperoni fork, stripping and polishing it I...

    1989 Klein Top Gun

Decal time Before attempting to apply the decals I gave the original paint a thorough clean and then used Turtle wax rubbing and then polishing compound, I then added a couple small paint touch ups using model paint with a small brush, the condition of the original paint is impressive 😁 As...

Big thanks to all who voted for my romax against these other fine builds 😁 Really sweet to win with the romax, easily the favorite bike in my stable 👍

No bad idea's, the black MC1/fork does actually go really well, I agree Really liking the stock color scheme option though, here's computer image I made up to get a better idea My sons liking this option best so far 👍

    1989 Klein Top Gun

Not sure why a white saddle option didn't occur to me before, but better late than never. This Avocet borrowed off another bike. Perfect choice I think and white Turbo repops are fairly affordable 👍 Suns going down so lighting not the best...

    1989 Klein Top Gun

A bit more mock up effort completed. We figure a Turbo or Turbo shaped saddle is more appropriate than the XO saddle, likely we'll go with a black version as red ones are very rare and if found, above our budget. Also, some XT M730 cranks c/w black rings, I borrowed a Turbo and some cranks off...
