It’s a fabulous story @pete_mcc
@TreaderSteve I think there was an episode of Fake or Fortune that were investigating piece that was had come via School Prints
It’s built around a late 70’s Yamaha ca-610 amp, which sadly stopped working recently. That needs to be my next restoration project. Also a Thorens tl150 turntable, I think those are Roger’s compact audio speakers which we changed to a more meaty set of celestion Ditton 33s
I think the market for mid century furniture is holding up better than bikes. Although much like bikes looking at the price things are listed on EBay or elsewhere isn’t necessarily a a reflection of actual prices they sell for
I did get the little one her first piece of mid century furniture - this tiny chair- off eBay for not very much money around the time I bought her first second hand islabike. If nothing else she will inherit and nice bike, furniture and record collection. 😀
Nice bit of parquet flooring. We’ve got the same pattern in our living room. Was a mid century homage back when this photo was taken but now just mostly covered in Lego and kids toys 🤣 It turns out 1970’s leather sofa is quite robust despite kids jumping up and down off them thankfully.
Very nice. Love mid century Danish chairs and cats. Also a big fan of wall units such as Cadovius, ladderax etc. I can see a common link between my love of retro bikes and furniture
