    Mystery and Unidentified Parts

Topline was a small CNC machine "job shop" that first started making crank arms for Gary Cook to compete against the company he sold off (Cook Bros. Racing). They then began making Grafton Joystix until where were so may structural failures they offered John Grafton another style of crank that...

Fake flight, made me think of hopping up & down while flapping your arms while you're squawking like a bird .;)

    Paint matches

I have no clue where you live, but any good automotive paint supplier in North America can "match" a color and give you a RAL#. Granted if you buy the paint from them it's going to be "the good stuff" ($$$$).

Funny you should post this right now because John T, Chris Chance's former partner is sitting next me drinking a chilly Sapporo beers right now. John has been my best friend for the last 40+ years. he lives 300 miles south of me so it is a real pleasure!

    Anyone knows of Caterpillar bikes?

From what I can see of the front fork, it looks like a cargo bike with a smaller front wheel. My guess is that it is someones custom innovation/ restoration. VERY COOL, I'd own it!

Forgive me Tom, but it sure seems to me that you are posting on this "hobbyist/ collectors" site just to try to find work! "Low Budge" & low class! and it offends me and probably others! I'm sure that if you contacted one of the moderators you could negotiate a "right proper" ad and be a WHOLE...

Rod is/was "one odd duck"! A very close friend of mine (a brother from another mother) worked for him for a number of years and I actually flew up to Cave Junction, Oregon to discuss buying IRD from him and his partner (I have forgotten the fellows name... But he was the "brains"). Rod came...

The Ultimate Ranking Bible of Accessories Brands

Back in the day, we called it..."flavor of the month club"! My guess as to how to disseminate hierarchy would be the recently sold value of NOS collectable parts.

    Logos on parts

Early high-end components where chemically etched then laser etching became the #1 go to. Typically chain rings were milled logos where structural failure was rarely an issue. Stems, bars, and seatposts NEVER (at least from companies that knew their head from their ass)!

HOUSE OF LOOPTAIL on FB for retro repop tyres and maybe more

I've traded Emails with the guy and later learned he is also friend of a fellow that is a former employee/ good friend of mine. He is REALLY enthusiastic about the early Mt. Bike culture and has a collection of "world class" bikes. My guess is that he is doing this business for the love not the...
