I asked 3 Peaks Cycles last year and it was about £40/50 for a rebuild. Said price goes up significantly if spokes are needed. Thought that was a decent price tbh.

Have a look at the On One Inbred and Scandal too, both available in 29” and good value.

It’ll be one of the internally routed ones at a guess, 1989/90. Try putting it vertically and spray some penetrating oil down the hole. WD40 will probably work.

There’s plenty out there that will suit then mate. Something like a 2013/4/5 Orange Clockwork 29 would be spot on and not too expensive. On One Whippet is worth a look too. The Scott, Specialized, Giant and Trek have all been making 29ers long enough to still be 2x or 3x and come within budget...

Otherwise it depends if you want cheap, light, capable off road…. The choices really come down to budget and what you want it for?
