Looking for an interesting( Italian, Merckx etc) 56cm aluminium or carbon frame and forks. Ideally from 2000 onwards, traditional geometry preferred to build up for Flanders next year.
Looking for a steel frame with top tube length of 52 to 54cm max. Ideally with 135mm rear dropouts.
No real preferences and open to consider any interesting frames.
Re: ebay
There's a 51cm 992 on eBay today, with Chorus groupset and CXP 30s.
Might be worth putting in an offer, that groupset must be worth a couple of hundred quid on its own.

I agree about the appearance of a 60mm stem, I used on in the later pictures of my 992. Recently changed it for a Deda Murex 80mm stem which is much nicer.
Good luck with the hunt for a frame, one will appear soon!
Re: re sad one on Ebay
Wouldn't go for that, it sounds as though it's knackered. That frame will cost you more to repair in the long run.
The seat post screw is an easy repair, see my post on the forum: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=318959
Re:
I have a 53 Record chainring, 135 BCD with pin that goes behind the crankarm. No bolts. Doesn't appear very worn, but some pitting to the finish which is normal for these chainrings.
Still looks very smart, can email pictures.
They are mad money new, let me know if you are interested.

Re:
I see there's a nice fork with bearings for €70 too on Leboncoin, might have that myself
Frame size is stamped on the head tube.
I'm 5ft 10 and a 54cm frame fits fine.
Re:
Good choice, they are lovely bikes. Plenty for sale on the French website: leboncoin
Parts/ bikes significantly cheaper on this site, but you take your chance.
Headset condition all important.
Re:
Thanks, it's turned out very nicely. Major issue with a bent rear derailleur hanger which is now sorted and it shifts beautifully.
Hope to get delivery of a full carbon Sintema fork tomorrow, which will bring the bike weight down to 8kg. Not bad for a 1999 aluminium frame ( with some...
Bought this frame here a couple of months ago from the very helpful Steve, thanks. It is a 1999 Casati Monza aluminium frame. Casati size 54, it came with Campagnolo Chorus headset and BB.
Plan was to try and build a light bike for climbing hills without resorting to compact gearing in time...
Re:
Not wishing to bump the original poster, but am also looking for a one inch threadless carbon fork.
If still available, can you post pictures of both or PM me please
