I much prefer the Courier, I built the Pathfinder in a couple of different variants, but it never really felt great to me. The Courier has a very 80s geo, but I like the feeling of the levers and brakes, friction shifting 3x5.

My ongoing project, a Breezer Storm I picked up a few weeks ago in the outskirts of Munich. Frame number starts with "H1" which would indicate 1991, but the components are LX M560, so I guess it was built up in 1993. Overall condition is not the best, it shows scars from years of use and abuse...

So, just pulling out a large size lugged Stumpjumper at the dump...not bad, I should move. I got those wide Araya rims on my Muddy Fox, I really love them. Thanks for the very entertaining build thread!

The Courier is getting regular use, even delegated pulling duties to it. I love the feeling in these old Dia Compe levers...

Work-in-progress pic from today: I have done the usual frame treatment with cutting compound and carnauba wax, really only a few minor chips in the paint. All bearings are overhauled, very low end headset but it will have to do for now as I am mostly pulling together parts I already have.

I picked up a Pathfinder yesterday, 1990? I didn't do more than a first rough cleaning and then testing out the tire clearance...up to 2.2 inches should be OK, the rear chainstays rub with 2.4 Holyrollers. The frame looks decent and will come back to life with some cutting compound and wax.

Absolutely, it feels very dialled now, I truly enjoy the feel of the 4-finger levers and the friction shifters...that Dura Ace freewheel also makes a very distinct sound.

Sorry, I missed this somehow...it is the original stem, I must admit I am not sure what it is, many of the parts have Muddy Fox branding on them, but I assume it is from one of the Japanese manufacturers.
