Thanks. And comparatively speaking, powder coat is roughly 25% more that doing a proper job with rattle cans by the time you get all the etching primers, filler primers, color, clear and do your media blast. Maybe different on your side of the pond

Powder coated. I did put new wheels on and went to 8sp rear. Still 2 up front. Spacing is much better with a higher high and lower low. Feels like the old bike, rides like a new bike.

Converting dollars to pounds it's about 40 pounds to paint this with spray can paint. 65 for powder coat. No question, PC. I ordered the powder today. When it arrives next week, off to the shop with ya! BTW it's called Mystical Blue, made by Prismatic.

I don't think so. The bike is only worth about 300 American in top shape. Not a single original part on it. Even the fork is aftermarket. I never did like this color scheme anyway. I'm looking at a medium metallic blue with black decals. This is my keeper. Had it 25 years now. It will be ridden...

Not nice paint

Here's what I'm starting with. This is where I'm at. I plan on media blasting it and having it powder coated. Naturally there will be upgrades. I'll list those as I go along. BTW photos won't be great. I have a choice. do the bike or buy a better camera. That's a no brainer if I ever did see...

Came out purty nice when you consider the low expenditure. Rides real good. I do want to shorten the lower bracket I made up for the basket, but I just HAD to take it for a spin. Brings back memories of a simpler time.

B/B is junque. Parts are cheap and plentiful. Did verify it's 24 TPI big. Rear hub adjusted up fine, but I plan on doing an overhaul as the RB2's are getting valuable. Rear wheel trued up fine using the previous method. Less than 1mm out of round and side to side with even spoke tension. I like...

I'm just gonna clean it up. Paint on the top tube is mostly gone, but the primer is still there, so overall corrosion protection is adequate. I don't think these have any collector value, other than just being old. And decals? For this? Be easier to find a 5 legged dog. So a full on restoration...

Last nite I'd cleaned up the inside of the rims and gave the spoke nipples a shot of good old WD40. Today after overhauling the front hub, I decided to true it up. Loosened all the spokes, got tension even and found a good wheel! After not much work I have almost no side to side, about 1mm max...

Re: Re: I'm hoping so. I overhauled the front hub since my last visit. Maybe the fresh grease will help? :? BTW looked so good I didn't even use new bearings. Just put the old cages in the same place. Adjusted up fine.
