You started the thread by saying you was new to classic bikes. If you are new to bike restoration may I make the suggestion to buy the excellent Park Tool big blue book of bicycle repair? Also look on you tube at their videos, always something to learn on them. It will save you money in the long...

Just keep in mind that classic bikes generally sell for less than the price of their parts unless they are very rare! You can always get your money back...

Thank you for sharing this frame number information. Hope you don’t mind I have copied to my post about an Allin I have just bought (and a link to this). I am trying to keep all the information I can find in one place. https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/allin-stan-butler.490612/page-2

Well this very nice time warp Allin turned up not far from me for sale, I had a day off, so thought why not? The seller explained it was his father’s bike who had bought it new from Allin in the 50’s from Whitehorse Road. These pictures are from eBay because it was dark by the time I got home...

    Help ID'Ing Vintage CB

This is the best site for CB, Holdsworth & Freddie Grubb identification. Get the frame number, look it up under “Frame number” and then look at the catalogue. The forks should also have the serial number on the stem. https://nkilgariff.com/ I have a 1959 CB European which has the same lug...
