Not nearly as tight as I’d anticipated, having previously failed to get a Syncros riser bar through the clamp. The bend itself isn’t too tight, so with the aid of a flat head screw driver to hold the clamp open it worked out fine, without scratching the bar at all.
Yes, it’s an early non-hinged Syncros. I’ve been meaning to touch up the decals.
The bars are new Nitto-made Bassi Bobby Bar - perhaps not for the purists out there but the extra width and sweep work really nicely for me.
I'm afraid these sold some time ago. I do have a lovely pair of made in Japan Swans from a similar era for sale on 'another site' though (and only £25);

Hi all,
I’m potentially in the market for a step through frame that will take 26” wheels - on the larger side so 19/20” equivalent. I know Muddy Fox made a ‘ladies’ version of the Courier, wondering what else is out there. Would certainly consider a Thorn or even an Orbit - not necessarily...
This sold literally just today via another platform, I’ll update the thread now. After having been listed for months there was an odd flurry of interest this weekend, with offers, an eventual sale and now this thread revive…
Panaracer Fire XC Pro 2.1 would be my recommendation, a good all-rounder in all seasons and easily available in both folding (recommended) and wire bead. I've used them on both old-school narrow rims and more modern width ones without issue. Shop around and you can find folders for as low as £22...
Lovely bike and an absolute bargain! GLWS, if anyone is looking at this and thinking (like Skee-Lo) ‘I wish I was a little bit taller’ I have a later, 60cm 700c /canti 531st version of the Royal frameset for sale...
