I've heard that Bromwich-built frames were used for some of the standard/off the peg touring Overbury's models, but never that atb/mtbs were from anyone other than Andy Powell's hand, certainly nothing custom/fillet brazed...

As above, most threaded/bolt on pads will work - I use Kool Stop Supra 2 pads, you can reverse the order of the washers to adjust clearance dependent on rim width etc.

I really want to get on board with the modern cloth bartape thing - it looks cool, is eco/reusable etc, but it also potentially means wearing gloves with padding which either means gel (ugh) or foam…

I agree the geometry is similar to an Overbury's Pioneer of the era, though the brake placement on the chainstays and the fork remind me more of a Bromwich (image stolen from @narcotitlan 's thread here - https://www.retrobike.co.uk/threads/1988-fillet-brazed-bromwich-531-sold.379920/ );

No markings at all on the underside of the deep red one - my faded grubby one has ‘Polypropylene Please Recycle’ under the caked on crud.

Interesting, if it’s a copy it’s a very good quality one. The molding seems near identical and the quality of the plastic and printing is at least as good as a genuine one.

Apologies if this has been covered elsewhere - couldn’t find anything via search. This morning I acquired an immaculate Crud Catcher in red, only the second I’ve ever seen - the first was ten years ago, also pictured below. Question is; the logos are different; I now realise I’ve never seen...

May sound strange, but the Cinelli ‘glow in the dark’ C Ribbon would go really well with those tyres and the rest of the colour scheme - it is a weird kind of off white in daylight.

What brake calipers are those?

There are a few builders I really admire, but in terms of grail-type rarity the one I’d really love to find would be a Thanet - with the weird bottom bracket and stays… preferably at the bottom of a pile of unloved bikes, ‘just take it away mate’ type price etc…

I really like what Memento are doing, hope to visit them when in Montreal in the summer.

Is that a custom stem?

Sadly this didn’t go - it’s now advertised on other platforms, along with the aforementioned Brompton.

@PhillB How are you finding those Super Yummy tyres? Do they come up large compared to other 2.2 tyres?

This F+F along with a whole bunch of other stuff (including a mk2 Brompton and a ton of spares) will be at the Bristol Bike Jumble on Saturday, before eventually making its way to evilbay if still unsold...

I have a lovely 1987 Raleigh Royal frameset for sale, however it’s a 60cm so may be a little on the tall side for you - I’m not much taller but take a 34 leg jean. Can attest to 531 frames for covering miles though - the Royal saw me through multiple century rides in supreme comfort.
