Hi, I have a 1996 Saracen Backtrax and the bottom bracket axle has just started make crunching noises. I have managed to remove it but it does not state a model no on it nor the length. I have looked in the archives and all it states is its a sealed one. Can anyone help me please. Many Thanks Andy

Well guys I got fed up trying to source new chainrings, I went and bought a shimano FC-M171 Triple chainset and a Shimano BB JN26 Bottom Bracket axle, all fitted on and working fine at long last. I know I can't change the chaingrings as they are all rivetted but at least if the chainset wears...

Hi thanks for your prompt reply, guy in the bike shop said the problem with using another chainset would be down to getting the spacing between the chainrings right as apperently they are different, gear ratios wouldn't be a problem. just wondering if any other shimano chainset from that year...

Hi Guys, the only info i have is this, Shimano Deore M563 crank with 94mm BCD 5 hole 22/32/42T, Local bike shop says shimano are not supplying the size of rings anymore, just wanting a compatible chainset that will work with this and still be able to replace the chainrings when/if they wear out...
