I am not sure if this will work. The springs in XT V-brakes are pressed-fitted into the brake-arms, as far as I remember. I was trying to use another Avid-version, but there is the same issue.

Thanks to Adrian (@raidan73), I was able to fit a silver IRD post. To compensate for the silver overhang, I swapped the handlebars for a black Salsa. Now it was finally ready for its natural environment in awesome wheather. As expected, it's a great ride! driveside front rear Cheers, Alex
