    I want to up grade from my old Deore XT thumb shifters to rapid fire shifters and I'm not sure what shifters I need. The bike is a Specialized stump jumper that probably had cantilevered brakes but these have been replaced with Avid v-brakes. I'm happy to consider shimano shifters on their own...
