    Harry Quinn dating and value

Rims are not the same. Similar, but slightly different curvature. The whole front wheel looks to be a replacement. The rear is Campagnolo hub with Record name but missing clip over the present oil hole hub, 36H sprint rim with valve eyelet; the front 32H sprint with no eyelet, NO name hub with...

That's where I was headed and thinking. So close, The lever is boss mounted Huret, but the gears are Suntour ARII. Rims need more study.

Last batch TT2Q : The frame lugs are filed right down to almost nothing. Almost no edge to put the lining pale blue along. The colour is a bit tricky - metallic fern green with panels of silver on the seat tube. The top tube and down tube may have had a later light blow over with more silver.

I've just studied the BB stampings more intensely and realised those 'TT' are made from the same 1's used for the O1 to make the Q. Figures really. That's what he had to hand.

Hi Nob, Of course, I did mention, "More details and photos will follow." so when it's completely out of its box I'll reconstruct it as it was before dismantling for couriering to me. This was the in original advert description, "Vintage Harry Quinn road bike for restoration. A friends dad used...

Hi all, I've been lurking until I had something to contribute. Today I received what I think not only is a genuine Walton Road Harry Quinn (HQ), but just possibly something quite unusual. How many times have you heard that? If I'm correct this will be a long slow process. The overall style is of...

    1975 Raleigh sbdu 58

Hi, if you really have one of these SBDU framed bikes that your son rode to every day school, that's amazing! To make sure, look underneath the upside down bike at the bottom bracket for the frame number. As was said before, these Special unit frames all started SB then up to a four figure...

Oops, it followed me home honest it did. Late 80's Ken James

Hi Mark, I don't 'need' another frame at all. I was saying I would 'like' a PAG (Bill Philbrook of Arden Street, Gillingham); or a Ken James of Ashford. My frame size is 55 - 56 cm, although I think my daily ride, a Raleigh Record Ace in 531C is 57cm. I am not desperate for a new frame as I...

Oops, it followed me home honest it did. Late 80's Ken James

Hi allenh, quite understand. I wouldn't be separated from my first 27" wheeled bike bought for me (by my ex-racer Dad). A Dawes Star Realmrider. Also a tad too small for me too, really. That was what I did the clubby Iwade 10milers on (on the road to The Isle of Sheppey). I'm sure you'll do...

A Raleigh Chopper, Not an MTB though. The only thing it was good for was 'looking cool'. And the frames broke apart at the rear stays. Claimed to have been designed by Dr Tom Karen of Ogle Design. See article in BikeBiz to see more...

Oops, it followed me home honest it did. Late 80's Ken James

Hi allenh, Lovely Ken James. I've lived in Ashford now for 42 years and knew the shop and Ken fairly well. My first house was in Christchurch Road (behind the Kentucky) just up the Beaver Rd. from his work/shop. I bought some components from him just before he retired to France (where his son...

Looking for a vintage steel frame (57cm) 1970's onwards

Re: Re: For that much, I would think that "the world's your lobster". Provided, as you say, nothing exotic required. I would even expect a reasonably equipped Reynolds 531 main tube framed bike could be found on eBay under that if no one on here can help you out. Just don't be suckered by the...
