    1987 Concorde Columbo Lo Pro

Been up the road on it tonight. There was a bit of creaking at first from its front wheel and the rear tyre was making a cracking and tearing noise as I rode so it just got a steady plod round the block. That crap gear lever and the spongy brakes brought the memories back instantly. I need...

    1987 Concorde Columbo Lo Pro

Thanks Andy. Do you know if these were sold as a complete bike or just a frameset when new? The Aquila name on yours and Columbo name on mine suggests a complete bike to me. I've not seen a later one before other than yours on here and the black to white fade really suits it. Nice bike. ...Luke.

    Pictures of kleins "please"

Now that is pure bike porn. My favourite mtb of all time and was the inspiration for my road bike which I had custom made in 93. Was going to post a picture, but it's not a Klein.

Maybe I read something about fluid dynamics in a catalogue years ago, then and presumed it meant they had fluid in them. I could only afford one of those stretch on Unidisc covers back then. I only chucked this about 18 months ago. Back to the bike though. It's ready for a blast down the road...

RRotM - Retro rider of the month - Jan - Something Different

Re: Re: Have you got any pictures of your MB? I worked there in '93 and used to be in Rutland C.C.

Saying Hi and a few of my bikes, Andy

Real nice fleet there. Been trying to date that MB, but it's got me stumped? I worked at MB Dronfield in '93 and it must be a real early one with the decals like that. I'm always interested when MBs pop up on here to see where they ended up. Big fan of the Concorde too. It's a 26 like mine but...

    Alternative 90's headset?

Finally settled on a new Record one from Tweeks cycles on ebay. Was cheap at £43 quid and is top quality along with matching my old Veloce's stack height exactly. It might seem like the safe option but I can't see the point in paying a fortune for a used older one, when these are half the price...

    1987 Concorde Columbo Lo Pro

Re: Re: Cheers Mike. Maybe I got that wrong then. What's best for sticking tubs on? Tape or glue? Just took old front tub off and I can't believe how easily it flopped off. A bit scary when I think about how much side load they get when cornering. ...Luke.

Did Campagnolo do one with tubes of fluid jn it? Might have been called a Ghibli or something similar?

CNC'd brake lovliness Red Ciamillo SOLD

Re: CNC'd brake lovliness Ciamillo and Nokon cables I was hoping you'd have said they were from the nineties. I'm trying to stick to 93 for my build. I've also got 19c rims, so as much as I love the look of those brakes and they're the right colour too, I'll have to miss out. I'd have thought...

Re: These look amazing, but I've never heard of them. When do they date from?

    1987 Concorde Columbo Lo Pro

This week I've ordered a new Continental competition 26 x 19c front tub for the Concorde. Not sure if it will look right, but I didn't want an ancient one that's rotten inside. Just need that 7400 indexed lever now. Would the 7 speed one work with my 6 speed Maillard freewheel? I'm trying to get...

    1987 Concorde Columbo Lo Pro

Thanks for that. I've not seen one with a curved top tube before, but it looks really good. Those Scott tri bars have got to stay now you've shown me those pictures. Mine were only a cheap set that my brother bolted on when he borrowed the bike for Time trialling. I never rode on the tri bars as...

    Columbus MS tubing

Hi Stefan. That's a stunning looking bike and unusual again with it being another MS frameset built in the 90s. That paint job must have taken days to do. What's the story with it? Where's it from and how did you end up with it etc? Cheers...Luke.

    1987 Concorde Columbo Lo Pro

To be honest, I prefer the look of black or carbon discs and really like the 3 spokes from the early 90's. Those Mavic 3 spokes on the front of the Lotus bike do it for me. A white disc would complement the fresh looks of that Gitane though.
