The spare spokes mounted on the chainstay felt like a clever touch to me back in the late 80's when I worked in a Raleigh dealership. Gave the impression that this was a bike you could take on a long expedition!

The great irony being that unless you also brought a freewheel or cassette removal tool, the spokes are fairly useless😉

Great bike, £400 worth.
How's the rim wear? It's nice to see stis and the right match of derailleurs, mtb touring triple etc. Looks well loved, so sad it ended up at the tip.
I suspect the PO has shuffled off, and his descendants think it's just an old bike😪

Rims are great, not sure if thats the original wheels but both in good condition
