Wanted QR spindle for Exage hub

I've just joined a local cycling group and intend to join them for a couple of rides. To get to the meeting points I will need to put my bike in the car and therefore, ideally, make my front wheel a QR (currently using nuts on a threaded axle).

Does anyone have a spare QR spindle available or advise which one I should be looking for?

I thought I might have some but turns out they are rears.

I do have a spare wheel on an LX or dx hub I can do cheap if that's of any use?

Yes, like just the axel and QR you’ll need with a mixture of your cones etc.
QR hollow axles are usually a larger diameter than steel nutted axles, so his existing cones won't thread onto the hollow axles.
A further consequence is that the fatter QR cones won't clear the existing bearing shields

Not sure that's always the case - definitely agreed that cheap nutted axles are thinner, but IME Shimano used the same dimensions and only switched the axle itself for nutted variants.

I've converted exage hubs from solid to hollow axles, they were both 9mm. I can send you a hollow one for the cost of postage (£1.55) if you still need one.
Yes please, thanks very much 👍🏻

I’ll PM you. Do you have a retro style chrome QR too by any chance?

Yes, I can find you one of those. Send me your details and I'll get them sent out today. Postage will be £2.10 I think as it's over 100g.
