16yr Old Cyclist Hit By Car In Sheffield

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news folks but just around the corner from here, a 16yr old kid on a bike was hit by a car this morning which threw him into the path of a lorry. i heard the road was closed on the radio but it wasn't till i got home, that Sarah told me what had happened, she fould out via the S11 group / nosey neighbours app.

This is just up the road from the buddhist center where you stop over @Guinessisgoodforyou .. the air ambulance landed in Endcliffe park, he's currently fighting for his life in hospital so keep your fingers crossed for the young lad.

That's horrendous, I hope he pulls through.
 
The visceral I read via the missus FB link regarding the involvement of any person riding a bicycle IN A RTC beggars belief.

People seemed to of forgotten their acts and omissions have consequences especially when their are driving a motor vehicle of any type.

A couple of weeks back a morning show on the box interviewed a member of a family who's father had been killed a a driver using a mobile phone.

It the end the person conducting said interview said " iam sure WE ALL LOOK AT OUR PHONES WHEN WAITING AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS "

WELL MOST OF US DON'T.
THIS SELF JUSTSICATION REALLY PISSES ME OFF. BBC TAKE NOTE .

I WISH THE LAD / LASSY A SPEEDY RECOVERY.

The poor boy, being hit with a car is bad enough but if that truck hit him I fear there will be severe life altering injuries for him.
His family must be distraught.

about 2 years ago one of the guys from our warehouse was hit by a truck like that outside our unit despite wearing his Hi-Vis vest.
And sadly despite his steel toecaps his foot was completely destroyed in the process, he was medically retired by the city about 6 months ago

Sorry, I’ve been MiA these last few weeks, no news, despite the fact that I have a 16yr old myself.. hopefully no news is good news, should the worst have happened, we would have heard.

Looking at the position of the vehicles and knowing the road.. I think the young lad was cycling down Ecclesall Rd south towards Hunters Bar, looks like the car has pulled out of a side road to his left, hit the kid knocking him into the path of the lorry coming up the hill in the other direction.. if he has one thing in his favour.. at 8.30am the traffic wouldn’t have been travelling very quickly..

I’m still keeping everything crossed for the lad.
