front triangle, Chromoly steel rear triangle, just like Mantis XCR, Nishiki Alien ACX, Haro Extreme Comp, and I think a couple of others.
This is the first gen CR-7. I'm not sure why Gary Fisher chose to have both triangles painted black. To me, that hides the fact that it's an alloy bolt-together frame. I prefer the 2nd gen CR-7s with teal front triangle and fully chromed rear triangle that matches the fork nicely.
