Who can tell me which model of GT this titanium frame is? I've never seen before.

It might be a counterfeit, but it can't be a recent one. Because China's titanium frame welding technology has improved significantly in recent years, such rough welding could only have happened a decade ago.

I’m sure there will be good Ti welders , and the Chinese equivalent to Vernon

Once China was thrown into the mix we all know what it is. You know too deep down.

It’s cool that someone has had it done. But look at the quality difference between GT Ti frames (inc the Lynx ) and this.

Their titanium welding may have improved in terms of building space shuttles / jets and whatever else, but I imagine a good portion of their bike frames are still thrown together by children on 10p a day.

@d8mok, did the Zaskar have the holes in the stays for a rack or mudguard etc?
If they did, were they drilled in the correct position like the r/h side, or the next postcode, like the left?

What I mean is, if this frame is a counterfeit, it shouldn’t have been made in recent years. Because to achieve a detailed replica, you’d need a factory with machining capabilities, not just a place that can only weld tubes. The welding quality of such factories would be much better than this frame. Although in China, few people perform secondary welding (due to low efficiency), the possibility that this frame was made many years ago is indeed higher. However, he said he bought it on eBay, and of course, I can’t guarantee that he’s telling the truth.
