Snapped crank is less catastrophic on the road

I'd probably ride it to be honest.Snapped crank is less catastrophic on the road![]()
What a shame.
Oh well, grind it out to take away any stress riser, sand it with increasing grits of wet and dry paper until smoooooth, install them on a bike, drink enough to forget what has happened and stay away from "gnarly sends".
They will still have 127.3% more metal volume than a set of Toplines.
Or install them on a cabinet door in the garage as a handle.
Truth is, it's probably a much smaller risk than "operator error" or interaction with motor-vehicles, peds or E-scooterists.I'd probably ride it to be honest.![]()
By the sounds of it the bike has been in road-only use for the last couple of decades so the opportunity for them to crank under extreme use has passed - now with just metal fatigue to add in to the mix!Snapped crank is less catastrophic on the road![]()
Let me first compare with my own collection of lonely Middleburn arms, but request notedThat is rather stupid. The opposite of a bike I bought. Rather than fit the right BB to some shockingly low rent cranks they fitted, they decided to let the ring make it's own way through the chain stay.
Not wanting to be a vulture. I have a set of middkeburns with a crazy crack from the bottom up around each side. If the good srm you have is the same side as my cracked one, I'd be up for them to make a whole.
