The British bike thread

At one of my tea stops today my Mercain was the only steel framed bike to be seen out of 16 . Most looked to be carbon fibre ant the odd alloy one .
Majority had disc brakes .
Times are a changing.

I stopped for a coffee last week in a similar situation. Non cyclist customers stopped to look at my bike (a humble Coventry Eagle Touristique) and complemented me on it. One old boy said 'nice lightweight' which made me smile. They didnt bat an eyelid at the CF Treks, 'rellos and Ridleys.

You just need to remember you're not the weirdo, they are.

That's rather lovely.

It's quite big, so no need to hold back.
I fitted a dozen bikes and a dozen frames in it once.
