I can't tell from the photo if this is dirt or damage? (Seat tube above drive side cantilever boss).

Also, the exposed steel areas (bottom bracket, crown race and cantilever bosses) look heavily corroded - have you been storing this underwater for an extended period?

With a comment like that yes in bath full of water for the 30 years it’s has bit of surface rust on the breaks mounts Jog on bigot

That is a cobweb Near the break bracket the bottom bracket has a bit of Surface rust threads are fine I will give a clean and add a new photos on both issues

It will be good to see the pictures of these areas when you've cleaned them up a bit

Those "rifle cut" frames were indeed made by merlin. They were pretty standard frames bitd....The tubing was dropped as it had little real world effect. About £140 ish notes new.

TBH, I think a good clean up of the bottom bracket area will be needed to help a sale, i would be very reluctant to buy with that level of rust, as those threads are pretty crucial to the frames integrity and use.

Sit it in a bath of evaporust for 48h....it will look like a new bb.
