New build: Scapin TR-X 1997

Update: I fitted my favourite panaracer tyres and went for a proper ride today.
This bike is absolutely amazing.
The frame flexes on rough terrain and bends and it feels like I have rear suspensions.
Also, this fork is great, same level as my bomber on my other scapin but somehow it cancels the bumps better.
Probably because I have my bomber set a bit harder than this Judy.
Anyhow, time for a couple of updated pictures... 20250628_185326.webp 20250628_185353.webp

Wicked ! And it looks sweet with the blue and red
How quick was it compared to your other Scapin? Did you break your records ?

I always wanted one of these! Remember their ads in Italian MTB magazines from BITD. The level of details these frames have are unsurpassable in my view. Their selling point would be the selection of tubing but Scapin didn’t push this a lot in their advantage.

Anyhow, enjoy the rides with it!

Also did you end up weighing the bare frame before building? Would be interesting to know their weight.

No, can't find it.
The number 1790 grams springs to mind.
Could it be possible?
Yes for its size I would expect it to be below 1900 so this sounds close enough.

I just hope I meet someone in one of the retro meet ups with a Scapin one day so I finally try it. Enjoy it!

If you ever happened to be around west London you can try both of mine!
