Gap between crown race and lower fork cup looks too big for me, and heaven forbid hope that is not a crack in the top headset part.

Are the dust seals fitted correctly? Does the first lock washer sit level in the upper headset cup?

Needs to be completely binned and completely re-done with an unfcuked HS by someone familiar with pre-cartridge bearing stuff.
