The theory is the text/logo draws your eye to the valve position if you're needing air or a puncture repair.

That implies racers fixing their own punctures, for the 2 second time saving.

What's that? The 1930s?
Did tyres have printed logos back then?
All the old tyres I've ever seen didn't - just embossed.

(this is the front wheel, text is a bit closer to the valve)

So should I conform and move the markings to the valve or just give the world 2 fingers and let the OCD twitch away at my carefree rebel attitude?

Thinking hard about a PO's likely use of a jetwash that ruined the rear wheel and pedal bearings I started to think about other areas that might have also been affected by its use.
And while I have the frame in bits there's not going to be a better time, so I ordered a 20 spline bottom bracket tool from Park and a Shimano BB-UN300 and they should hopefully be here for the weekend.

This arrived yesterday, little bit earlier than I was expecting but still happy with it


Then this arrived today, it was cheap as chips and as my mentor Tom @bikeworkshop reminded me "Service parts, done their time"



After work tonight I opened the extractor up and set to work removing the old BB which without too much of a struggle turned out to be an RPM BB 7420 (means nothing to me, and nothing showed up in a search for RPM 7420 on FSA 7420)
Even though it felt ok Im convinced a PO went jetwash happy so I don't trust it anymore and as above not a lot to replace.



Now to the part I was dreading, the shell and it was immaculate and I was extremely impressed with it.




Over the weekend between working on the deck lowering Im determined to measure up and cut the protection films so that I might even get the wheels back on it.
*After I put the new wheel bearings in of course

Keep the old one. Ita dead easy to service and replace the bearings. I've got one sat on a shelf somewhere.
