Which SPECIALIZED S-Works is that? With Rock Shox FSX Titanium Forks

Hi guys ...

So: Yesterday I bought this beautiful Specialized. And yes, I am the fool who drove 6 hours for it (3+3) in Germany to get it. All I saw in the pics was the FSX Titanium forks and the Syncros titanium post. That was enough for me! Considering that it was super super super cheap after I negotiated a little with the female seller. 🙃

And what can I say: I was extra rewarded! When I arrived, I saw the Paul front hub 😍
I am sorry to make up an extra post on this. Normally I am the world champion in googeling or researching my stuff - and wouldnt bother anyone. But this one is a little tricky for me.

What is the build / catalogue year of this beautiful Specialized I bought? I assume its 1994. However the frame and decal design I dint find anywhere! Only (!) thing I found was the 1994 FSR steel version that is the same with the yellow logo on the down tube only, hollow letters etc.

Literally any other I found had logos on both top and down tubes, has "Stumpjumper" or M2 "Team Edition" on it etc. etc. The group set also tell me 1994 ish. The hub has the bigger diameter. So also mid 90ish - not early 90s. Fork is 1992 onwards of course.

Note: I will find another Specialized fork for the frame and re-sell it. The parts like FSX carbon fork, the titanium seat post, the 117 SUP Ceramic wheels or the Paul hub will stay in my parts collection.

Thanks for your help!

1994 I believe too ...but why cant I literally find ANY comparison of the bike online? or in catalogues?

Yeah, I assumed that. I know plenty of catalogues/manufacturers that have "incorrect" images in their brochures. Differing from what was actually in the shops later on.

I would agree with '94. '93 has solid letters on top tube and downtube, '95 were no longer yellow.

Pictures of the team on the bikes in the '95 catalogue. I might know someone with a scan of the elusive catalogue, will ask them later.

An S-Works would often be a frame only, custom built to race spec so there might not be much in the catalogues. Neko's M2 thread might hold some clues, and he is the master of details when he comes online I bet he will know.

The serial number is usually on the rear drop out and will indicate year of manufacture. The UmmaGumma tyres alone narrow it down to 94/95. Oddly for an S-works the chainset and rear mech are 1994 LX-ish.

The Forks are in the 1994 catalogue

The 1995 S Works catalogue has a picture of the factory Team on what looks like your bike frame and forks, though the rest of the 95 Catalogue shows a different logo colour etc. Perhaps the pic is from the 94 race season?

That all keeps pointing to 1994 for now.
