Hey Folks, I dunno if this will be of any interest but I couldn’t let this bike go to scrap as I like a project, I had some bits in the shed too so that helped. It was an ex hire bike that had a pretty tough life but as I say I like a project. Drivetrain was all pretty warm and needed replacing, luckily I had cassette and a new chain in the shed. I bought a new Bb as the bearings in the original was completely gone, I got some new tyres and brakes too.

First couple of picture is how I was given it and others are how it is now.

It’s going to be used as my work bike. Still needs a few bits doing too.

Cheers

Nice work. Great to see a Saracen put back in use regardless of the vintage.
Thank you, I know she’s not old nor mega spec but I couldn’t let it go to scrap. This is my first Saracen and it does nicely for a work bike. Still needs odds and ends doing

Another before picture, I couldn’t attach it for some reason.

Well, I thought I’d put a few pictures of Victor as I call him ( one foot in the grave-as it was in poor state when I got it) up from a small ride after fitting the rear mech. I’ve never been great with tuning gears but think I’m getting there now,
