I think this will be the right section for this rare bike I own!

This is my 1966 Dawes Kingpin Sprint.

A rare bike when all is said and done, and I only know of 1 other up to now, and that's on the Dawes Kingpin Facebook page.

They wasn't a big seller in all fairness, and only made in 1966.

I will be doing a refresh this year of the bike, and retaining the original paint and patina it wears, new cables, and a general tidy up for some use.

Is it different in having a derailleur setup instead of the usual SA hub gear? Just wondering what distinguishes the "Sprint"

Drop bars, Brooks saddle. And away you go!

If it wasn’t as rare, I’d certainly go down that route! This has its original Middlemore saddle too, so that will get refreshed and stay.

Great find and I'm glad it's found a worthy home with lot's of Kingpin friends!

Interesting to see the stem is not QR and originally sold with alloy hubs. Lot's of teeth on that front ring too!
The alloy pump and chrome forks are also rather posh - King of Kingpins for sure!
