Only when the sun is out and the streets are bone dry, will I take it out for a ride. I hope there is enough length in the seat post for me. It is a 61cm frame, so it is the right size.

Longer SR seat post shouldn't be a problem, I can send you one if you can't get one in NL.

Main rider will remain the M-gineering. Once, twice a year this old girl gets a day out in perfect circumstances. For that I will put some new tyres on and probably replace the bartape with some cotton.

You will be fine. If they hold air use them for a couple of rides not too far from home.

Two choices place your bets. Assuming no obvious splits cracks should be fine. Put the minimum pressure in ie not 100psi
