All I have is one picture. It says Mountain Bike on the tube, American flag on the head tube. It couldn't be a Mountain Bike mountain bike, could it? Or is it just a cheap knock off of Charlie, Gary, and Tom's hard work?
I might just pick it up to find out more

Aside: why can't people take pictures of both sides of the thing they are attempting to sell?

Google searches are polluted with big brands that have bought up the results. Search "mountain bike company", get directed to the spesh website. Grrrrr

Perhaps it's cut in half with a makeshift dremel tool and the other half is a jagged hollow mess? Weight weenies are a special bunch.

Time for some in depth research me thinks

It's sold as a mountain bike because around 1986/7/8 this was the sort of thing that was made available for £99. Same as the Raleigh Mustang, various Falcons and apollos, the lowest of the low end.

But, heck it has chunky tyres, chunky grips and chunky bars so it must be an mtb because the bloke in the shop said it was
