NOS NIB Shimano M900 full set

At £2,500 - £3,000 I could see this sort of thing changing hands amongst collectors, but probably never being mounted. But hey they've got it and they can try their luck for as long as they like!
Even at that sort of money it’s still steep mate.

Not even an original M900 Seatpost, although I do prefer the M910.

Those Seatpost clamps do exchange for big money though.

The derailleurs and Seatpost don’t fit my bike and to add insult to injury the BB is 113 whereas standard XTR was 107

I wonder if he’d be willing to split it?
I need a new M900 crown race, would £200 cover it? 🤣🤣🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Yeah it's a combo of groups also, and as you say it'll be very lucky if all the size variable bits would fit a particular build, so it'll just end up sat in a cupboard/on shelf/on display.

It changes hands like an asset. It will never ever be used. Which kind of makes it almost pointless.

Are there really people that display these things in boxes ?

I appreciate wanting to have spares for your pristine ride, but what’s the point of buying it just to have it ??

Starting to think there is a whole new level of nerd to shoot for ?😳

In another hobby I have a lot of NOS parts, mostly in original point of sale displays, dealer parts boxes etc up to 100 years old Worth a canny bit & a bit of social history in their own right. They'll not be used. I enjoy having them & they are great to display in the man cave.

Over & above my collection if I come across old parts I will sell them on - maybe not at the premium this groupset is fetching!

The older these bike parts get the more likely this will happen.
