As noted on my other Falcon thread I somehow managed to agree to buy another Falcon. Whoops!

I picked it up this am and thought I would get some photos on quick to see if anyone can help identify the model whilst I scour the forum and internet for details.

Looking at her, I think it must be a 70s model?

Aside from that initial observations note that the wheel rims don't match. Both are steel but the front is a textured Rigida rim, whilst the back is Raleigh. The lamp bracket on the fork is the same colour as the frame..... didn't every bike that had one come with a chrome bracket??

Anyway here are some piccies....

Just moved a pump bracket to get a better look at a crumbling sticker. Is it a dealers decal, or a tubing decal? I am thinking dealer......

I have dug this project out to give it a light going over so that I can take it for a couple of test rides.
A Facebook group I am on share my suspicion that it is an early 70s black diamond.
Out of interest I weighed it, expecting a figure above 30lbs, and was pleasantly surprised to find it weighs "only" 27 pounds!
Probably not a bad thing to have a bit of weight underneath me if I am going for a ride in this wind šŸ¤£

DON'T DO IT. V .dangerous in this wind! Especially tomorrow (18/02). A pal of mine was blown, uncontrollably, into the path of an HGV, He got away with it - you may not...

Thanks for the advice but I have already been out in the calm before the storm. I will be staying indoors tomorrow safe and sound.
The bars in this bike are soooo narrow, did cyclist not have wide shoulders in the early 70s??

Ok a bit more info......
Seat post is 26.4mm
Brakes are dated January 1977
Front hub is dated 1977

So it looks like it is a '77-78 model

I've got a 1978 Black Diamond. My brakes are dated Sep 1977. The decals are very different to yours though. Lots of pics on my website (link in signature). I've just got the frame back from being resprayed so just starting to rebuild it.
