When did it lose it for you.....

It lost for me the first day i rode my Pinarello road bike. My mountain bikes felt like toys next to the razor sharp handling, speed and comfort on long distance riding.

Oh yea, road bicycles. Lot of funn and wheel sets damage but funn.

I've heard all bikes are, and must be, gravel bikes now.

Lost it for me when suspension took over and Marins moved away from round tubing to Columbus shaped tubes. Everything else on the bike was moving away from lightness and slim design to bloated and heavy. Last worthwhile design revolution for me was V brakes. Very few post 97 bikes I like the look of, and it’s only got worse from there. Todays stuff just look like angry insects to me. No thanks.

I see a really practical compact bike

I see a really impractical long wheelbase juggernaut gravity assist energy inefficient bounce fest made for man made trails and car boot racks.... bike....

Both would make it to a pub
But I know which one id want to ride home.
