Rocky Mountain Reloaded.....finished

Forks.. the frame had none.....

Luckly @Once A Hero karma'ed me a marin pair that had been STretchED for postage and a pie! Very good of him.....thank you.

After a bit of squEEzing and twisting, I managed to get them back to 100mm and the drop outs sitting straight. Very weird.....

They are now back from powder and ready to go in. Just need to find what i did with those tange fork decals???

I’ve been meaning to drop you a line to see how you got on with them, so that’s excellent to see that they have been revived and will be put to use
Good work!

Having spent some time on the frame the last bit is to put a few coats of a good quality wax polish over the whole lot....that done its onto the build. That part is pretty simple as its essentially a bulk swap from the pine mountain.

Only thing was swapping out the down pull xtr m900 mech for an up pull....ebay....nice find at a very good price and pretty mint!

See you on the other side......as watching people bolt the same old same old on is a bit dull!

Photos to follow.

Couple of bits of fettling prior to launching into the build.

Straighten the rear hanger horizontally and vertically and chase out the bottom bracket threads and face it too.

Actually did 3 frames like thus today whilst i had the tools out! Don't ask how I've ended up with 3 builds!

Quite a lot happened yesterday.....

First thing was, after building a set of custom xtr levers, a pair of suntour xc pro ones turned up in ebay................I've only been looking for 2 years for a reasonably priced pair......I'm sorry I'm just NOT paying north of £60 which seems to be " normal".....they are just brake levers!

Oh Karma, you just had to wait till i had finished the others.....oh well, xc pro are my all time favourite. So its a mix of xc pro cockpit and xtr the rest......just how i like it.

Ive also had to change over the front mech, again very reasonable ebay find. The pine mountain was down pull, this is up. Lots of 31.8 out there seems 28.6 is harder.

Finally I've swapped out the post. The old one i sent off with the frame, so ive popped in a Thomson from my box of delights.

Fitted the brakes and got them set up......then decided to swap out the stem for a silver one thats a touch shorter......its a test really as i think i may need to source a 110mm over the existing 130mm....

Cleaned up a fitted my 13 -28 Miche cassette.....i like these as the individual cogs are easy to buy and they are very light.

Final flight checks tomorrow! Then if its not pouring, see how she goes.
