Retro Helmets! (I'll show you mine if you show me yours ;) )

Here are a handful I have found over the past year. The Specialized is my rider and is in stunning unused/lightly used shape. Sadly, the Bell helmets that I like are L/XL and are not a proper fit. 337795AF-39EC-4C80-BA9D-7D78D18CF024.jpeg E1F9F0BD-0F3E-4DFC-B7A8-9D4ADF192A7A.jpeg 62FCE8DB-7B47-48A9-AB11-3156DF1ADADB.jpeg 39AF017C-5120-4682-A4A0-89BEAFC5D455.jpeg

Do any of those old helmets even come close to reaching the safety standards of modern helmets? Wouldn't mind getting my hands on some retro helmets but I suppose they're probably not anywhere near as safe as modern ones.

I think it’s fair to say that using a vintage helmet is definitely risky and almost certainly not as safe or advanced as their modern counterparts. I personally use the Specialized helmet that I posted occasionally and feel fairly secure in it as it hasn’t been crashed and has no UV damage but the Snell certification is expired. I avoid wearing it on the road or on actual rides but like it just for cruising.

But again, not so safe for using but fun to look at:)

Seems thats for lids that have been worn. New in box or bag, i wouldn't have thought would have a sell by date 🤔 They're going by it coming into contact with hair products, gels, sweat etc. So if yours are new and unused they should be fine.
They also state a 'breakdown of materials used in construction, but that seems a bit ambiguous.

My bnib Specialized Team Force one is sized medium, but is pretty gigantic ,in fact so much so I'm beginning to think its supposed to be worn over a woolly beanie
