And I have just remembered this. As a youngster this absolutely was what I carried with me...it was both my portable tool and the tool I used to repair my bike. Ubiquitious in the 60's...:

I got one of those with the little blue book with each of my Raleigh bikes.

I've got a retro Ritchey multitool though I haven't actually used it for years now - I can't remember seeing another one of them though (or even a photo of one). It's basically two tyre levers that slot into each other, and each lever has different allen/spanner heads on the end. Will try and dig it out (or more likely locate the two halves - they always used to get separated!) and take a photo to see if anyone remembers them.

I might hijack my own thread and digress into beer tools - of which bike companies have produced a bewildering variety - the most obvious being the Park BO series - I give you here the BO-2:

And indeed

And even when you stop being silly, it can mean either

Gosh Adrian that NOS Cool Tool is a very cool tool.

Did they do a 14mm socket add on? I remember a friend took an angle grinder to theirs so that they could use the adjustable for tightening cranks. Can’t remember that working....

Is that not the black bit? Use that and the adjustable with the Allen keys turned around into a long handle to do crank bolts

Later ones came with a big Allen adapter for Allen cranks afaik
