Retro Newbie
Good morning, I was wondering if my bike would be classed as retro?
I've had it for many years now and still use it, Does anyone know much about it?
i got it as a birthday gift and that's all I can tell you at the moment. .

Cheers

Yes, it must be from 1989/1990 maybe?
It looks like an Off-road "Master" to me? Does it have a name on the top tube?

Here's a link to the Off-road catalogue in the Retrobike Archive...

Off road became Offroad/Proflex and then moved into full-suspension bikes, finally being badged as K2 later on.
There's a good thread on here somewhere with lots of history/details etc.
Your bike looks in good condition, good to see it being used out on some trails (where is that in your photo ?(.

Thankyou so much for getting back to me, yes, it has "Master" on the top tube and the route I was on was part of the John muir way, Dunbar East Lothian at the "bridge to nowhere" , cheers for the link also.

Regards

Martin

Nice bike, never come across this brand before.
Offroad is Proflex. Proflex was actually the name of one of their models and then at some point it got switched. They were also known at KG Engineering and Girvin.

Just to add to the confusion, my KG Engineering Offroad Pro-flex was built by Serotta:

EDIT: just seen that Jimo covered a lot of that above
