The Rarest of rare?

rarest of rare bikes

One of the nicest bikes but I have never seen "in the flesh" are:

Specialized S-works Ultimates final Editions (60 items) limited Editions.....produced in 1995.

Appreciate this isnt up there with the likes of the Ibis or some of the others, but the Dave Yates is pretty scarce, a Reynolds 653R (road tubeset) fabricated into possibly the lightest estay i have picked up.

The always over looked (because it was white) White Spider which hung un decaled in the Frame shop for a decade or two, used Reynolds 753R and was essentially the same frame that Baker and Gould won the worlds on, built up with XT rather than Campag. Predated the use of Tange Prestige and the use of Shimanos re-invention, the U-Brake.

The earliest Zinn to the Last of the Z-753. (not sure if these qualify these days).

Beautiful display of bikes Carl.

Cheers Fellas, ive learnt by lots of mistakes, and mishaps damaging stuff thats hard to find, trying to get a little more organised, slow process, and not easy to keep on top of it.

Yes, looks tidier than my kitchen :) the ceiling looks low, is it a cellar or just camera angle?

It isnt a massively high ceiling, but i was sat down taking the pic so more the angle i guess.

As a kid, i would drive my mother mad, all the bikes were fettled and fixed in the kitchen...lol.

I find i have two issues, lack of time, and forgetfulness, both are my Achilles heel. To try and resolve both, i needed a little more organised space, where less time was spent looking for the tool or component i needed. I am getting there now, all the frames and wheels are hung, more expensive components displayed, the smaller spares etc all have a place, bigger tools and surplus are in toolboxes, whilst the dirty work, polishing wheel, vice work are all done in a different room.
what i did realise when i took this pic before finishing was how many tools i had that were missing, the Park stand ive had for over 20 years, and cleaned and fettled it, but i had lent tools out that i have never had returned. The cost to replace was scary. A lesson learnt, dont lend out your tools. And keep them organised. ;)
