It depends on what you mean by dangerous:
1 Is that injuries per mile travelled or injuries per hour?
2 Does it also include heart disease etc as a risk and the exercise benefits of cycling?
3 What does it define as an injury? Grazed knee?
Interestingly the British Medical Association has the opposite view, and that on balance the risks of a road accidents are outweighed by the extra life that the health benefits give.

To be fair, the difference between cycling and biking can be fairly subtle, and probably demands a thread of its own.

This sort of thing really boils my piss How long did this study take? whats the point of it? scaremongering ? A person on a bike and a cyclist are two different things ,a man running is not a runner. If you are an idiot you are more likely to have accidents or cause them.
