id be surprised if it didnt get relisted at some point, unlikely someone will stump up that much surely? thats assuming it wasnt just some shilling

There are many versions of snipe software available all claiming to help the bidder win an auction. Perhaps two or more bidders using these methods results in a selling price like this.

As you say, re-listing seems likely. I'm not sure what obligation the winner is under with ebay or the seller?
