Managed to get hold of a 93 Orange Vitamin T frame and would like to know what to clean it up with ? It's a sort of brushed matt stainless steel type finish and is a bit grubby. Any suggestions guys ?

I had the very same issue few weeks back.. Get down your local car parts gaff.. Light grey scotchbrite (ultrafine) give my brushed Ti frame a quick rub
Down .. Jobs a good un :)

I gave that issue a lot of thought, and the satin finish from scotch brite is probably the closest youll get to original. The thing is, I am unsure if the direction of the rubbing will show on the result. Give that consideration.

A little less original but much less sensitive finish is to oxidize the metal after you get the satin finish done. This will give it a dull gray color, and much less likely to show swirls and scratches. Google it, its pretty easy.

Good luck!

Could you elaborate on the oxidisation? Did a quick google but can't see anything obvious.

The dull gray finish is oxidized layer of titanium.

You can soak a frame in hot water with a mixture of OXICLEAN (or similar cleaner) to achieve this finish.

People have been doing this with 7000 dollar watches. It'll be ok with a frame :)

The key is to fabricate the tub to do the soaking ;)
