I bought this what seems ages ago, probably best part of a year I think, but finally, it is complete.

It has not been an easy journey since I received the frame. I knowingly bought it with loose bottle boss bolts, but the repair turned into a bit of an issue, which I won't relive here, but for those interested, here are some threads:

Thankfully, the good folk at Enigma managed to do a proper job, so I could then crack on with the build.

Aside from my initial choice of stem/bar not wanting to work with each other, and a change of brakes from what I had initially planned, it now looks like I had imagined it would when I started, especially with the help of the all black custom decals courtosy of Gil_M (great work indeed).

The build

Just so there is no doubt that I built this myself and didn't just acquire it as it now stands, here are some pics of the bike as a work in progress...

Feedback welcomed on my build, and also pedal choice. I have some Ritchey Ti SPD pedals, but I use crank bros pedals so what are peoples views on a set of these?

very nice indeed.

M95* XTR and Ti frames are a timeless combination. and a couple of bits of colour thrown in for good measure.

Been a hell of a journey for you, this one, but a really great outcome.. 8) 8)

Wow, this is the nicest build I've seen on here for ages. The tiny amount of purple ano sets off the Ti and black perfectly. The forks are also a real thing of beauty. I think I have a new favourite bike on here and it's not a Kona! :D

Thanks, appreciate your kind comments. I was going to run full m95x but a deal happened with me parting with some machine tech canti brakes (will I regret that?) and in exchange I got the pauls. I then read a thread on here about ti and purple, so thought what the hell, it can't look that bad, and it turned out all right. I think too much colour would ruin this build, and does on many others. I need to be careful on my next build though - Ti and green this time.

And Steve, yes it has been a trial, but I'm glad I persevered and got it to this stage. I look forward to riding it once I sort out the pedals.

Who says you didn't get those pictures from a previous owner who built the bike?

:P

Just kidding.

Looks great. The M95x kit really suits the bike indeed.

I am going to overcome my own (known) prejudice against anything purple anodised to say what a slick looking build.

Nice work, very 8)

Can't wait to see the ti / green, that sounds great.

Ian congratulations on a top class build.

I love the Rockshox FSX with the brace. Decals are also superbly done.

I think Black Bar ends would finish it nicely :)
