After building and not really riding it a great deal I have decided that it might be best to sell on my Blackstar. I have decided to replace it with something a little more modern with some front sus and probably discs and I cannot afford to have this just sat around gathering shed dust.
The original build thread is in my sig at the bottom of the page, but here is the full detailed spec for your appraisal.
F+F = Alpinestars Cro-Mega 16inch Frame (I'm 5'9" the seat has another 2 inches of give) + Alpinestars forks. Black powder coated with custom silver decals by ‘gil_m’. The only blemish is a small ding on the down tube approx 2mm deep x 6mmx4mm. Its been there since I had it and it rides fine.
Wheels = Mavic X517 rims, black spokes, red ano nipples. Black spesh front hub with matching skewer, Black Onyx rear with Shimano skewer. Fitted with Kenda X-Country 1.95 tyres that have a narrow silver edge, continental presta tubes.
Shiny bits = XT M735 short cage rear, XT M735 band on front, XT M739 combined shifters/levers, XT M750 V-brakes, LX M565 Crank on a UN51 112mm BB. Shimano 8 speed cassette with narrow gauge chain. All parts are in excellent order.
Finishing kit = Black Alpinestars Mega-lite 600mm wide bars with matching original 100 Mega-lite stem. Black Outland grips with black plugs. Black oversized 270mm seat post with unknown Black saddle, Black oversized 1 1/4 inch threaded headset, 'MIKEE' specially made Alu seat clamp (only one in the world). Silver braided cable outers with new inners + frame protectors.
I don't think I have missed anything!
I can post this in the UK for a nominal amount, outside of the UK I will have to enquire about rates and arrange postage with you.
So, how much do I ask for this ready to ride custom made legend. Having taken into consideration all that I have spent out, I realise that I won’t get it all back, but that’s not what it’s about.
£350 and its yours.
