This is a 1991 Merlin Elevator, serial number 4225. The first dirt ride is tomorrow with some friends.

Only a mother could love the fork, but it performs nicely. Whether I'll keep it on the bike remains to be seen.

Now that is not an easy to find bike... That fork, Monolith, is supposed to be the best of it´s time. The drop bar build makes everything even classier.

As attractive as the young lady in the photo undoubtedly is, I'd rather just see photos of the bike!

edit to add:

Also interested in the ride report. I've heard these frames were pretty flexible so will be good to hear your thoughts. Maybe that was the point of the original picture? A study in flexibility?

Here are some more photos. I felt under the weather this morning so no ride. Hopefully, tomorrow.

Re:

Very beautiful and very rare, you have really good taste.
I imagine an ride with your Elevator and my Elevator FS, a high-flyout !! 8)

Fitted some modern tyres and went for a ride this evening and thoroughly enjoyed the bike. The fork works well, soaks up the small stuff with ease. I'm surprised it wasn't a more widely adopted fork, though, the styling is most likely why? Love the dirt drop setup.
