I've been meaning to take some photos of my e-stay Fisher for a while - so here they are: the 1991 Gary Fisher Montare in galactic black. 
It cost me $60 (30 quid) a couple of years ago from Gumtree, and it was in a right old mess. I tried to keep as many original parts as possible (Fisher handlebar, brake levers, Araya RM-20 rims, front mech) but others were destroyed (hubs, Fisher stem, rear mech) or lost long ago (grips, Fisher saddle, FatTrax tyres, pedals, right-hand shifter). The paintwork actually came up quite well and to my surprise, the original bottom bracket was revived with a service. Even the copper-coloured 1 1/4 inch headset just needed cleaning and fresh grease.
The Fisher leather trail tail saddle was an Ebay find, and the NOS FatTrax took almost a year of bumping in the Wanted section here. The rest of the drivetrain is a full Deore DX M650 group, as per original spec.
It's taken over two years of searching, begging, and grazing knuckles - but it now looks pretty much as it did the day someone proudly rode it home from the bike shop for the first time.
