Recently a friend of mind passed on some old Rocky Mountain literature to me.
I believe the pages are what bike stores had in 1986 when you went in to order
a Rocky Mountain custom bike. Here's one that caught my eye. The Avalanche was
available this year as a fillet brazed frame on a very limited custom basis.
Frame and fork designed and built by Paul Brodie.
There was no Avalanche for 1987. Then it re-appeared in 1988 in the line up
and again in 1989 but was a tig welded frame for mass production.
Hope you can make out what it says. I will try and get a decent scan.

Re:

That's another piece of the puzzle Roy - great find. Have you ever seen one?

Re:

No question here. I wasn't aware that Rocky made a fillet brazed Avalanche
in 1986 is all. Figured there might be one or two others out there
that didn't know this as well. Guess I was the only one.
Means I don't have to bother with the Thunderbolt and Tantalus stuff either.
Also, does anyone think this looks very similar? hmmm makes you think.
Please ignore seat height, it was in the stand and forgot to drop it.

Re: Re:

It was news to me too Roy!

I thought that this one bares a striking resemblance to the FB Avalanche too.....
