Can someone take a photo of their early Cannondale and tell me what goes in this hole (see arrow)? I'm guessing that it's some sort of barrel adjuster?

Re:

No, it's just a little ferrule Caspar (off to the shed with camera!)

Re:

If you plan to get some made then I'll happily post you this one - I could do with a couple myself :)

Re:

If its just a cantilever brake cable stop you need have a look at the attached photo. If it helps I am happy to post you one as I no longer need mine as I have gone over to V brakes on all my Cannondales.

Re:

Thanks, I think I might have found a solution (see pic) but I don't know the OD, so I may be back asking for more help.

Have you found the Vintage Cannondale site yet? If you go to Info/serial Numbers and then scroll down to restoration tips you will see their solutions.

Re:

I looked yesterday but wasn't convinced that Cannondale used a barrel adjuster, which is why I threw the question out there.

Re:

We seem to have some discrepancies… Looking at the very pixelated image in the 1987 catalogue I think Adrian’s ferrule is right for my bike. I guess Cannondale changed to barrel adjuster later on? Let’s wait for Pierre to tell us what’s right!
