There was a "blizzard" today

Got some unexpected weather today. SNOW, high winds, occasionally freezing rain and HAIL, mixed in with some sunny periods and dark clouds! All in one day!!!

All this after a week of people talking about taking off their snow tyres off their cars for the season.

But I guess the weather is kind of fitting given I had to go pick this up this morning… a 1990 Rocky Mountain Blizzard :D

It's in tatty condition, but looks to be almost all original aside from the tyres, rear mech, and missing front shifter pod replaced with unknown thumb shifter.

The Syncros Powerlite fork looks to be in very good to excellent condition. Aside from the paint finish, the frame doesn't seem to be in too bad a shape either. Sadly, a couple of dings in the top tube of the frame, one on each side with the worst on the drive side. Front headtube decal painted over with some white paint.

That's a lovely bike! The missing first-year push-push isn't a great loss, though finding a working set might be hard if you want to restore. That Acera-X rear der. is just criminal. Oh, and I'm not going to mention the seat.

But I do love an early Blizzard.

BTW do you have an estimated date for when you own all the Syncros forks in Canada?

It wasn't that bad. Barely snowed on this side of the city. I have seen 30" on Easter weekend many, many years ago.

Not THAT hard.

Ah, but he'll be needing the XTs, haven't seen a working set of those since about 1993!

Are you saving that set for a special occasion? Maybe a 2-3 hour ride and then throw them out

so the first gen M091 XT rapids are are crap?

i also have an M095 XT rapidfire, but my luck has it, it's also the rear right hand. :(

i have no other spare 7-speed gear, so it's either one or the other, or i source a complete matching replacement. not too fickle with this, just want to get this in decent working order without spending too much $.
