Just bought a nice pair of rigid forks but i'm struggling to identify them....bought them just cause i liked the look of them. They are 1"1/4 with a threaded steerer & nice machined dropouts.

Can anyone tell me what they are???

I wondered that too as they have come from the previous owner of a nice Funk Pro Comp....but the seller in question found these forks in the store room of a LBS in Singapore and wasn't sure whether they were Funk.

However, a member has shown me picks of his unicrown Funk forks and they look slightly different (possibly fatter fork legs/different machining of dropouts & welds are bigger & more pronounced on Funk forks).....I have emailed pics of the forks to Daryl Funk to see if he can tell me once and for all.

If they are not Funk i'd be really interested as to what else they might be :?

Also the good man who sold me them tells me that he feels that they are not Alpinestars as he has another pair of those and these are different.

The following shot looks like it has similar forks though....ie. an Almega, although Cromega forks are Cromo blades which are very different. Not sure their is machining on the forks on this Almega though :?

Found this picture of a Funk Fat fork and it appears quite different than your purple one.

Yup, i had a pair of these BITD and i miss them....you can see how different they are.

Just need to find out what they are exactly....

Having emailed the main man i just got the following reply back from Daryl Funk!!

Hi Drew,
I'm pretty sure these forks have been re-painted because we typically did not paint the fork ends. It also appears as if the welding was dyna-filed. Having said that it takes complex tooling to bend 1.5" O.D. tubing so I'm pretty sure this fork is an original. I get a lot of requests for this fork so it probably has some if not quite a bit of value......mostly from those who are following the early mountain bike scene and collecting the bikes from that era.

Thanks for the memories and kind words. Best! Daryl Funk~

Well that clears that one up then......I'm very happy!! 8) 8) 8)
They still look different from the version above so maybe they were a slightly later model????
